Help! I Need to Change my Commercial Dumpster Rental Location
Good news: you can change your location if you need to. Here are the steps involved:
Reach Out
Reach out to our Customer Service team at (860) 688-3955 or through the contact form on our website. Please provide your account number, current service address, and the new location where you’d like the container to be placed.
Clear and Confirm
Make sure that the area around the current container location and the new location are both clear of any obstacles, debris, or parked vehicles. This will ensure our team can easily access and relocate the container without any issues. Confirm that there is enough space and clearance at the new location for our service vehicle to maneuver and place the container safely. Keep in mind the overhead clearance for power lines, tree branches, and any other potential obstructions.
Once we have all the necessary information, our team will schedule the container relocation as soon as possible. Please note that relocation fees may apply: we’ll inform you of any associated costs during the scheduling process.
Are There Any Places I Can’t Move It?
There are a few places where a dumpster can’t go, so if you’re thinking about changing locations, make sure it’s not to one of these spots:
Any Sloped Surfaces
Avoid placing the dumpster on sloped surfaces, as it could slide or tip. Dumpsters are big, and when full, they get very heavy indeed. A tipping dumpster is a huge safety hazard, so always choose a flat, level surface for dumpster placement.
Any Place That Blocks Access
Do not place the dumpster in a location that blocks access to driveways, walkways, or entrances to buildings. At best, this causes an inconvenience for you or your neighbors. At worst, it could create a dangerous situation if emergency services can’t get where they need it or people can’t get out of a building easily in a fire or similar emergency. Ensure there is adequate clearance around the dumpster for easy access.
Any Ground That’s Soft
Once again, these are heavy items, so placing the dumpster on soft ground, such as muddy or wet areas, can lead to the dumpster sinking or becoming stuck. Opt for a solid, stable surface like concrete or asphalt whenever possible. If you’re not sure about the stability of the ground, call us. We can help you figure out where to put it.
Any Public Right-of-Way
You can’t put a dumpster on any public property, such as sidewalks or streets, without first obtaining the necessary permits and permissions. Placing a dumpster in a public right-of-way without permission can result in fines or penalties.
