If you are emptying a house here in the Greater Hartford area, your weekly trash cart haul will not hold what comes out of the attic, basement, and garage. Local dumpster rentals give you one drop-off point to throw everything so you can concentrate on sorting out the rooms.
Affordable Dumpster Rentals for Estate Cleanouts in Greater Hartford
We serve municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential customers from Hartford County to Springfield, Massachusetts, including West Hartford, Bloomfield, and Windsor, and we’ve done this work as a privately owned, family company for more than four decades.
For a home or estate clean-out, we would typically put you in a container from 8 to 30 cubic yards, depending on your location and needs. In addition to 8-yard and 30-yard dumpsters, we have 15-yard, 20-yard, and 30-yard roll-off containers.
Keeping Within Your Budget
Match Your Rooms
The best way to keep the price in line is by ordering the size that matches the rooms you will actually empty. A box that is larger than the job still has to be delivered and hauled at the higher price, and a box that gets filled up before you finish the basement or the garage forces you to arrange a second delivery and a second haul.
If you are clearing one room of furniture and bagged goods, tell us that, and we will point you to a smaller roll-off. If you are emptying a full house, including a basement and a garage, or if you are taking out a kitchen, a bathroom, or a garage that’s completely full of things, the 20-yard and 30-yard sizes are the ones we use for that work.
Check Your Weight
The disposal site charges by the ton, so a heavy load can use up the included weight even before the box looks full. Drywall, plaster, tile, books, and soil are all quite heavy for the amount of space they take, while bagged clothing and flattened boxes are bulky but light.
If you break all boxes down flat and keep soil and masonry out of a household load, you’ll find it easier to stay within the weight that the price already covers. If not, you’ll end up paying an overage fee.
Check What You Throw Away
You’ll also raise the bill if you load something we cannot take away. A rejected load or a special-handling charge will get added on after we take away the container. We don’t, for example, accept chemical-based products, dangerous explosives, or combustible materials, and if you are unsure about a specific item, call us before you put it in.
Paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, drain cleaners, mercury items, and car-care products should be disposed of at the household hazardous waste collection, not in a rental container. Most Connecticut communities offer at least one of those collections a year, usually in spring or fall. RecycleCT lists all the household hazardous waste to avoid putting in dumpsters.
