Job Post: Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities & Role Details

As a Diesel Mechanic for Windsor Sanitation, you will keep our fleet of heavy-duty waste management and recycling vehicles safe, compliant, and operational.

  • Fleet Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance, diagnostic checks, and repairs on heavy-duty waste management trucks, roll-off vehicles, and equipment.

  • System Troubleshooting: Work on heavy diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, steering/suspension, and electrical systems.

  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure all fleet assets meet federal, state, and company safety standards.

  • Workplace Environment: The company notes that they offer a safe, team-oriented shop atmosphere operating out of their local facility.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Hands-on experience as a heavy-duty or Class A/B diesel mechanic or completion of a trade school program.

  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency using shop diagnostic tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely.

  • Licensing: A valid driver's license (a Class A or B CDL is often a strong plus for waste management fleets).
